I don't think everyone understands this comment. We left a deck light on one night in the North Channel (Lake Huron) when visiting another boat. Came back and it was covered in Mayflies. Not just covered but every square inch was 50 deep - could not see a spec of fiberglass anywhere. Since they don't move, we had to step on a few thousand to get down below. Took a month to get the boat clean.
I realize its location and time of year but we never leave a cockpit light on anymore.

I bought a tow harness for towing those water toys (tubes etc) and use it with some floating line to tow my dingy. It works great for a soft bottom inflatable and when ( not if ) the hooks finally corroded after 10 years of use I just bought another one. see it here http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--12-tow-harness-1-4-rider--12936563?recordNum=7
I once used a ski tow rope with a plastic float to tow a dinghy. Big mistake. Once I was towing through heavy wind chop and the plastic float broke and set the dinghy free. Luckily got it back. Be wary of plastic attach points.

The 1 dollar solar lights in walmart (now on sale for 72 cents) fit in the hole in the winches perfectly and in the handle for the main hatch. Just saying

Hijacking again:
Found a remedy on the Internet to combat Spider. A teaspoon of Tea Tree oil, a few drop of dish soap and water in a spray bottle. No spider in the bimini and dodger after 3 weeks now. Just sparyed the sail cover yesterday for longer term test.

This isn't a hijack. I was looking for people's ideas. Where do you get tea tree oil?
