Does anyone know where (or have a pic) of the location and configuration of the anti-siphon valve for the Universal 5411?

I don't have that. What part of the engine is the line coming from? Any pics?

Used to have one (5411). As i recall, it should be near the top of the exhaust loop. Anyplace else would be useless.

Trace the small diameter hose from the heat exchanger to the exhaust mixing elbow. Before ya get to the elbow, the hose should rise into a loop whose top is above the level of the mixing elbow. On top of that loop will be the little check valve that is supposed to let air in but not water out.

I guess what I am missing is the small line between the engine and the muffler. I don't have a heat exchanger.

Most 5411s are raw water cooled so there is no heat exchanger. What you do have is an exhaust riser where a vented loop would/should be.

I will take a picture of mine and maybe I am stressing over nothing.

On the 5411 the antisiphon valve is an "elbow" of black plastic with the valve at the top. It is attached to two rubber hoses coming from the engine compartment and is located under the sink attached to the bulkhead. It is above the water line and keeps a warm engine as it cools from sucking in raw water from the exhaust into the engine. It is an essential part and should be cleaned periodically. Modified boats may have another configuration, this is the stock installation on early 80s boats with the 5411 engine. I suggest you google antisiphon valve and 5411 engine to get a clearer idea.
