We have a Simpson Lawrence Anchorman 900 Windlass on our Hunter 41DS. It has begun to slip and I was wondering if there is any adjustment that can be made on this windlass? On our old boat there was an adjustment that could be made to tighten the windlass but I do not see anything in the manual for this one.

I think you can adjust it with the winch on the winch center hole but not sure,
I talked to tech support # in manual and they hooked me up with a repair guy
in bradington Fl who helped me with much info.
Are you cruising south with PGSC.

Hi Nick! No we just got back from the Tortugas so it is break time. I contacted Lewmar regarding it and they still have not responded. Do you still have the guys number in FL?

Overnight trip there was not the best. Nose on and 3-5' waves. Other than that it was great. the water was beautiful and the fort interesting. Whether I would go back is another matter. Key West was lots of fun. Spent 3 days there. Came back through Marco Island.

Thanks for the number and I will check it out.

Hey skippers, piggy backing on your post. I have a 08 41ds with the SL windlass. I have no paper work for it and can't find any markings on it other than the "SL". Can someone tell me where/how to find which SL I have. I need 100' of chain. Current plan is to take the 12' piece of chain off and bring to wm to attempt a match. Thanks

dak I believe that you have a Simpson Lawrence Anchorman 900 Windlass. I do not believe that they have changed that since my 06 was built. The chain is 5/16". I replaced mine rode with 200' of G4 High Test ACCO (all chain). Got a great price from Bacon Sails

I had same problems of ID of my Anchorman Plus 700. The gear box for the AP700 and AP1000 are the same. The AP1200 has a bigger gearbox.
I have the manuals for AP700 and AP1000 if anyone wants one.
I finally ID'd mine by the motor connections and Breaker Size. Send a picture of motor/ gear box and I can help.

Since mine may be different since the name was Anchorman Plus. I did find out that my number is approximate watts used. I had to partially pull my breaker and tilt it so see my 70 Amp.
Post a picture of you motor/gear box , maybe I can help.

I saw no adjustment from gearbox to gypsy.
