OH NO MR. BILL!

So I go buy a new steaming light bulb from WM. They don't have a regular bulb but oh look, an LED for only ...wait for it....$52....yup $52 plus tax. Oh well, at least it will be awhile before I have to go back up the mast and replace it. I go back up the mast and slip the "festoon" $52 light bulb into the socket. Call down to the Admiral...Hey turn on the steaming light. She disappears below and as I adjust myself to move back slightly to check the bulb, the harness of the bosun chair brushes the bulb and it launches itself out of the fixture...tink ..tink..plop...and I watched $52 sink out of sight....OH NO MR. BILL....

might want to try marinebeam. Lots cheaper than WM, and lots of replacement bulbs. Good help on the 800 number also.

Without going into too much detail, I am crunched for time and had to take what WM had in stock...ergo I had to settle for an LED bulb.

I can't blame the loss of the bulb on anyone but myself. I should have put the lens on right away.

Thanks Ranger. I've already ordered a couple of bulbs tonight. Live and learn right. The boat is over 100 miles away. With my limited time to get the boat ready I found myself visiting WM so I could finish up my mast work. It means that now I have to go up one more time before I sail the boat to my home marina ( a 120 mile jaunt ).

My boat scared my cell phone out of its holder when first we met, then repeated with the replacement about 6 months later. I'm much better at getting the phone to a safe place as soon as I get to the boat!

Kappy if we live long enough they will devise a way to embed them in our ear lobe so as not to loose them over board

Anyone know where to get a good buy on the 42mm-45mm dimpled festoon used on Catalina 250? Dimpled is the key word here. Chief

Costly lesson. I have lost a watch, tools, a handheld radio, cell phone and once dropped my wallet so I have slowly learned to be vey careful when working on deck.
