How are the Pad Eye'sshow in the picture attached? Is there access from underneath? If not, are the screws set in epoxy? The reason I ask is that I would like to add 2 stand up blocks for running reefing line aft. Before anyone mentions it.. I've replaced all these blocks with new Garhauer ones.

Thanks Jon

they are screwed down to your deck surface ...to find out for sure just remove 1 screw and you will know

Regardless of how they are currently attached they should be through bolted. Most hunters have a deck liner below the deck that is the salon top proper with a space between them. Check below for access panels or for the new install how you would get access to the deck bottom through the liner. Hunter has a habit of glassing in metal plates in the deck during construction that they drill out and tap to install deck hardware. Very strong but a real PITA to remove/replace

Those are threaded into a large, thick aluminum backing plate embedded in the deck.. They are much better that way instead of a through bolt. No bottom access needed. Use an impact driver to get them loose. when ya replace, coat threads with anti-seize and seal with butyl..

Then it sounds like they are installed like the deck organizers. Thank you Claude, Bill & Woodster!

you can use a tap but not sure how you would use a die....just make sure you use the correct thread size if you are chasing the old threads......

Don't see why not. If your initial bore doesn't go all the way through, the only caveat would be to continually clean out the chips, so as not to bottom out before you reach full thread depth.

Should be no problem drilling and tapping for new machine screws. Ya might want to remove one of the old ones and check hole depth so ya don't drill through the interior liner.
