Nice to see Lake Travis full. We're at Lucy's Fried Chicken even as we speak!

It was down 70 feet or more the first time I saw it. They opened the flood gates last week and just closed them.

Hopefully that wasn't at the previous shoreline.
It's about 100' above the previous shoreline. And they serve good TX beer. And my First Mate loves their watermelon margaritas. That's margaritas. Plural. (2 thumbs up.)

Had an Austin Amber and a Thirsty Goat today. I love Shiner beers, especially White Wing. But I can get those in SC so I mostly drink the ones I can't get at home while here. My absolute favorite is Pedernales Hefeweizen. Haven't been able to find it this time, though.

Visiting the grandchildren. They're moving back to SC this July so this is either my last or next-to-last trip out. As excited as we are to have them move back home we're gonna miss TX. And it looks like I'll miss out on sailing here. God bless Texas!

As much as I'd give my "port tack" to do that I'd probably better go to my grandson's football games tomorrow. 2, count them 2, games in one day. Seriously, I really do appreciate the invitation!

I still think "good Texas beer" is an oxymoron. Sorry.... and I am from Texas. However.... seeing Lake Travis full to the brim is exciting. It was once rated by Sailing magazine as one of the ten best sailing/cruising lakes in US. I have a cousin in Point Venture who I visit every few years... and I've never, ever seen it look so good.

Well, Joe, every dawg to his own bone. I don't like all beer but I do enjoy trying new ones even if it turns out not to my liking. Since this is likely my last trip to Texas I'm glad I tried lots of different beers. And it was cool seeing Lake Travis at its high and low points. Full is best but y'all have a pretty lake even when it's down.
I also saw some cool birds this time. Caracara, scissor-tailed flycatcher, roadrunner and Rio Grand turkey all in the same trip. (The Rio Grand turkey looks just like our eastern turkey but I'll still add it to my list.)
I'll say it again. God bless Texas!
