Life on the outside

Hi all,

We've been making our way north trying to keep outside when the weather permits and this year it just doesn't. Did an overnight last Tuesday from Fernandina to Charleston which was mostly motoring all night. Then Thursday Charleston to Cape Fear motoring all night to a rough entry at the Cape Fear River. The next jump will come Monday to Moorehead City/Beaufort with quiet seas predicted. Today is just the usual shopping and fixing here in Wrightsville Beach. If you live in Virginia or North Carolina would you please not shower next week so we can get under the bridges from Beaufort to Norfolk on the inside. (and flush a little less, too)

I guess you are zooming past Annapolis?
Not yet, and might have to stop in. I'll let you know if we get to Weems Creek.

The Cape Fear is no joke, huh?..
Can turn nasty pretty quick, but the trip up the river was flat calm. Several boats here came through with us from Charleston and said about the same. Nobody trusts the weather here.

Yeah I retired, now my wife thinks I work full time for her.

I always figured the moment we said "I do" the chase was forever on. Funny how that works.
Have a safe trip getting back!

Snowing again in NH and Maine. We're making good time, already in the Alligator River.

Hi all,
Everyone can go back to their shower routine we are now in the Solomons, MD. We made it under the bridges of North Carolina just barely while learning what winds bring the water level up and down. It worked for us and the other sailors that went when we did. Prime Rib at Coinjock was a real treat for getting through the ICW. We followed the magenta all the way from Morehead City to Norfolk.
