Toilet lubricant

This question may be for Peggy???
I have a Raritan toilet (new to me) but my question is about lubricant. I don't have any Raritan lube, but I have lots of others. Does anyone know of other appropriate lubricants? Should they be petroleum based or silicone based, etc? Or do I need to purchase more specialized stuff.

Thanks in advance
Ken

peggie told me to use super lube and it worked very well squirt it in the pump body...you have to remove the body from the base to do this its only 4 bolts and a hose along with the joker valve exit 90 Degree fitting

But seriously, I've heard a cup of vegetable oil every now and again keeps things moving...

(yep... still a juvenile at heart:eek:)

LOL I should have seen that coming. I was thinking more of plumber's grease, or synthetic.
We just came back from a 30 day road trip (12 National Parks, 12 National Monuments plus others) so my head may be someplace else.

Bad lands? I was in the bad lands about 40 years ago. Still can recall vivid memories of that trip.

All this does is make the holding tank smell.

RTFM - Brian: F stands for funny.

Peggie's at the SF Boat Show.

What I have onboard are those small bottles of hotels shampoos and bath soap. I would pour some of those into the Head occasionally to "lube" the pump and clean the head bowl. It smells nice too.

mineal oil is a quick and easy- and clean- dump into the bowl. One of these days i'll think ahead and dump it into the sink so it pumps all the way through the toilet.

How is your sink connected to the toilet?

As is highly suggested over on the plumbing forum: Tee into the sink drain line. With the sink thru-hull closed you can pump anything from the sink into the head. Thru hull open, you pump in seawater.
