Hunter 27 Eagle Mountain Lake. Azle TX

Hi guys & gals! :) I am now the proud owner of a 1981 Hunter 27! I went to pick her up yesterday but still have not gotten home with her. We had to haul it about 350 miles and 130 miles into the trip we spun a wheel bearing. We could only go 45 MPH pulling it because it has no tongue weight. Pretty sketchy stuff man. Hope to get her home tomorrow and get to work fixin her up. I don't know much about sailboats but fell in love with them a year ago and now my dreams are coming true. I just wanted introduce myself as i have found a wealth of information on this site while i was searching for a boat. She was priced right but needs a lot of work. Most of the work i can do myself especially all the wood work as I've been a finish carpenter my whole life. Hope to see you on the water soon.

Nice looking ship there matey! Welcome to SBO. Hoping to share some repair work dialog. We're just waiting for the weather to improve here in NY. We'll be floating the 1978 H30C by the end of April and cruising by mid-May. Best of luck. Bummer about the trailer tail light too.

Yeah, the guy i was buying it from was helping put in on the trailer while fighting 15 knot crosswinds.
The bow actually hit the light mount and tore up some glass :( I thought taking down the mast was going to be the hard part. It was super easy. But getting on the trailer was 10x worse.

BTW: Was first port of call... Walmart to get a new tail light :)

Well she is now home. Thru Storms, Cops, Traffic, High Winds, 5 new tires and a set of wheel bearings (and a tail light ). She is now sitting safely in my driveway.

Looking forward to sharing the refit / refurbish process and I'm sure i will have a million questions and be looking for help along the way :)
