VHF Radio Rebate for Standard Horizon, 2016

If you are looking for a new handheld or fixed VHF radio, Standard Horizon has a mail in rebate for that is good until 7/31/2016. Get up to $20 back for handhelds and up to $40 back for fixed mount.
I'm looking at the GX1700 which has integrated GPS (but no AIS), I really like the shallow depth on these units as well the available remote mic/control that I can install in my cockpit. A $40 rebate on this unit puts the GX1700 at the price point I could have paid for the GX1600 which does not have integrated GPS.

Yesterday I placed an order for the GX2200. Has both AIS and DSC... I'll post more once it arrives and I've had time to install it.

Still hunting down suitable antennae, cable, connectors, through hulls for the cable etc.. I was told the internal GPS does not always do well if you install it in a cabinet.... which is what I plan on doing.

I am installing a SH 2150 in my boat. I will have AIS, DSC, and the other bells and whistles. I am almost done with the install and my boat never had a house VHF so this is a big install.

If you can find a SH 2150 through a retailer, you may be able to get it for $200 or less since the SH 2200 was released.

That's what I was thinking too but the new gx2200 with gps is selling for less than the old gx2150 without gps.
