Am replacing my primary winch (starboard side main halyard) with an electric one and my electrician would like to know where he should run the cables. We can go from the hatch below the winch into the heads, but then where? Remove headlining or what. Any ideas would be helpful

Thank you in advance

Sailing,
I just completed this project so your post is timely. You want to go to the other side, I ran 2/0 wire down into the engine compartment and then under the deck to the main battery switches and breaker location. If you look closely at the area between the steps and the hatchway there is a flat area in the molding. My wires run down behind that flat area to underneath first step. If you look into that little storage compartment below the first step there is a blank on the left side that can be removed (2 screws) so you can run wires down behind that from there into the engine compartment. Once you get it there it is an easy run. If you want me to send some pictures I can.

Good luck! It was an interesting project but glad I did it!
