Hi, rudder has been removed on my first375 and I'm looking to remove slight play in lower rudder bearing.
Rudder bearing seems to be made of bronze or copper thin ring directly laminated in rudder tube.
When removing the rudder, I noticed that there is a kind of thin black coating or layer on the inside of the ring...probably a coating to make a good interface between bearing and stainless steel part on rudder post.
Any idea if it's stock or something added by a previous owner?
Since the layer is slightly damaged, what kind of material should infuse to replace?
Thank you in advance!
