This is from this morning about 10 AM, before the storm really got cranked up. The ice on the river is already a couple of inches thick. The bridge in the background is the Woodrow Wilson. I am planning on getting on the old back porch roof several times to clear the snow off so it doesn't collapse. Will be a late night.
the folks on the wilson bridge thursday night would tend to disagree with your 6" is just dusting
Yep, it's nasty here too this morning.
50 deg. 2 kt wind. A bit cloudy.
If we had stayed in Annapolis, the boat would be under 2 feet of snow right now, encased in ice. I'd be out there shoveling the decks with a dust pan, with red hands and wet knees. In 25 deg and a 20 kt wind.

Well, we went from 0 to 12" before noon, but the second half of this storm looks like far more. We cleared the driveway and deck this morning. The second round with the snow blower will probably be tomorrow morning. We had a long, snowy winter last year, but this storm seems to be dropping more snow in one shot than we've seen here in a long, long time. I'm hoping it's good for the ski areas nearby. The models didn't show much snow for the northern part of NJ, but it looks like they got that wrong. I'm glad ... I like it. Nothing beats watching the snow pile up on a lazy Saturday!
I can certainly empathize with the folks getting walloped. I'm sure some of you remember our dusting last year. Definately not a great deal of fun.
