Kind of reminds me of Clark's brother-in-law Eddie emptying his holding tank in the storm sewer. We all know how that turned out :)

Pat. Um... I guess you know that you really aren't supposed to put sewage into a storm sewer. It doesn't go to the sewage treatment plant.

I read somewhere that most of the "marine" toilet paper doesn't really dissolve and it can be found clinging to coral reefs.
Not true...and you can prove that to yourself with the mason jar test. It's not the cheap flimsy stuff that doesn't dissolve, it's the "extra strong, extra soft" stuff that does because it's impregnated with additional fibers for strength and creams for softness. A sheet of it'll stay intact in the jar for a month or longer! Except for the high end all-china "thrones" that have super strong "grinders," even macerating electric toilets will choke on "premium" TP. Wet wipes are even worse...they'll clog up any marine toilet...shouldn't even be flushed at home...they're causing $$ millions of damage to municipal sewer systems. In fact it's very possible that the article you remember as being about marine TP was actually about wet wipes.

Use quick-dissolve TP...use it sparingly (no one should need 15 sheets to wipe a butt!) and flushing it will cause NO problems.

Truthfully, never thought of that....I would have probably been in deep trouble though. Hope I didn't offend anyone...

15 sheets? Depends on what your diet is I guess. If I limited myself to 15 squares I would be walking funny all day.

You didn't. It's impossible to discuss sanitation issues without actually describing them. The trick is to do so in reasonably polite language, which you managed to do just fine.

Welcome back, Great timing as I am building a system for my little boat (Coronado 25) I decided to use an MSD porta-potti, the boat has an 1-1/2" thru hull, I plan on routing the MSD thru a macerator to the thru hull. There will be a Y valve for the deck pump out. As I get into the assembly I may ask a few questions.
