What do I do, what do I do?

The plastic innards of this block fell apart this week. So now I'm struggling with what to do with it's cold dead body. I have come up with a few ideas but would love to hear more. My ideas so far:
Earring
Christmas ornament
Remove the plastic completely and use it as a tip in a cake decorator.
Bullet holder in a 5-shot revolver
Pasta cutter
Remove the shackle, pin and ringding and save for future use. (Yeah, that's a stretch.)

Any more ideas?

put it in a small box, seal it good, and mark "Do not open, to be discarded after [date]"

Put some layers of duct tape over that plastic and it's good as new.

Remove the shackle, pin and ringding and save for future use.
And toss the rest into your steel recycling bin.
I suppose you could turn a new sheave out of delrin or something.

Do what the rest of us do. Throw it in your tool box with all of the rest of the odd screws, alien parts, stuff that has a wire sticking out, you know "good stuff".

Exchange it for the one on the 2nd reef line. That one never gets used anyway, and the boat will still look rigged.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Yeah...Put it in your boat tool box and you can use it to MacGyver parts if something breaks.

Put it in the box with the rest of the stuff that you can't bear to discard.

Drill it and put in a new wheel
Was going to be my answer too, though I know you were going for humor here. Totally doable. New sheaves of all sizes are available. I don't know for sure if you can get a new pin you can flatten like the original, but a bolt would do the job too, if you seize the nut in some way.

I hadn't thought about a nipple ring. But I already ruled out tongue, lip or eyebrow piercing.
Hmmm. Frogs are reptiles therefore, they don't have nipples. Explains why Kermit had not considered that use. Miss Piggy on the other hand......

Put it on Ebay. List it as 'vintage', someone will buy it. Or throw it your emergency parts drawer for one of those SHTF moments.

worrying about a broken block is only an unnecessary aggravation, replace it and sail on.... send the remains of the dead one to me and lessen your struggles:biggrin:....

I made several towel hooks with old blocks similar to this and the rope hides the defects in the sheave... and it looks great in the head, galley, or anywhere where you need a hook.
