Hi Woody, I'm going to be making a few navigation changes this weekend. The survey input indicates that's the weakest link. One thing that's new is a separate tab up in the main nav bar for New Posts. It has a couple of different ways to view them, all grouped together in one place.

And, I am working on bringing the "custom forum" back, which lets you use one forum menu to view everything you want to see.

Hopefully, the changes won't disrupt anything you use daily.

I prefer to just read what people have to say, enjoy the shared pictures and links...The previous system worked fine on my windows 7 laptop... I could log on directly to the new posts quickly, Don't use it on my smart phone much... nor my tablet.... People who participate on the smart phone apps are less articulate and make more grammatical errors.... because of the natural limitations compared to a full keyboard device. .So in essence, I liked the old "legacy" format for forum activity.

This new system has never allowed me to conveniently, or automatically sign in.... I've shortened the process with some experimentation....but even so... the old system automatically logged me in by just clicking the short cut.. If I use the system suggested by the site master.... i.e. use the log in tab in the header... I get to a page that says I must accept cookies or something like it... and no matter what I do or how much I reduce security I don't get signed in properly. I have been able to circumvent this annoyance by going directly to the forum pages before logging in... then there appears a small black tab at the top of the frame that lets me log in..... never says anything about cookies etc.

Finally I think the quoted text should be more prominent... I realize you can edit that when you respond... but I was hoping there was a way to make quoted text preferences permanent....Probably is.. so a quick heads up would remove one complaint from me,

Hi Joe, that's not one of our error messages, so it must be something to do with Windows or security software on your laptop. I think I might know what causes that, though, and I'll take a look at it today. If you could let me know exactly what the message says that would help. You can PM me with that, too.

That is the best place to login.

Do you mean prominent when you're reading a post, or replying? Thanks for this Joe. It isn't complaining, it's really important for me to know this stuff. There are so many variables with devices, operating systems, and the way we all read the forums, my experience is going to be very different than yours and I can't find all the little inconveniences. If I know about them I can make improvements.

Joe, me, too. But I just leave the 'site in a tab and come back to the legacy page, never need to ever resign in.

No different than the old site.

Spelling & grammar? I finally realized it wasn't the contributors bad work, it was their auto speil chuck and grammur carp.:banghead:

I mean replying.... notice that I used the edit features to augment the quoted text in this response... How can I save those preferences?

Lol, pretty sure I can change that. Power is out on the island at the moment but I will look into it.
