San Diego County Coastal Areas Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio
Coastal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:00 AM PDT on October 27, 2015

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT
Thursday...

* locations... tidal overflow possible along susceptible low-lying
beaches including: sunset... seal... Oceanside... Cardiff... La
Jolla... and Imperial beaches.

* Timing... highest high tides will occur between 9 and 11 am each
morning through Thursday peaking just above 7 feet.

* Waves and surf... 2 to 4 feet with sets to 5 or 6 feet through
Wednesday... then 3 to 5 feet with sets to 7 feet possible
Thursday.

* Impacts... minor flooding of low-lying areas along the beach...
including beach parking lots and possibly adjacent streets.
Strong rip currents are expected... peaking on Thursday.

* Outlook... tide and surf conditions subsiding Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that surf and tides will
combine to generate minor flooding of low areas along the shore.

I wonder if the tide ever got high enough to lift the docks off the pylons? Now that would be a sight to see.

We, too, of course, had high tides the past few days.

In our protected marina, the tops of the pilings were only to between my belt and neck. Those are the "lowest" I've ever seen them. Another four feet and the docks start floating away.

Seems to me that melting ice at the Poles could be a BIG contributor, 'cuz it sure as heck ain't rainin' around here!

I wonder if the tide ever got high enough to lift the docks off the pylons? Now that would be a sight to see.
