Second battery

Has anybody added a second battery to their 26 or any other O'Day that has the fiberglass battery platform in the area below the cockpit? If so, where did you mount it and how did you secure it since that area is highly sloped.

I mean really, somebody should create an adjustable angle battery tray and also have that same battery tray adjustable for different groups (size) of batteries. Shark Tank here I come!

In my 272, the PO put two house batteries in the port settee. This balanced the boat with the outboard mounted on the starboard. I am rewiring the boat this offseason, but I will do the same. I will leave the starter battery in the locker under the port cockpit seat. The motor recharges it. The house batteries will be recharged via shore power.

I would have the same issue IF I moved my battery(s) because under my settees is sloped as well.

Right. You will need to cut some plywood to make a wedge, epoxy it, and attach it to the inside wall of the settee. No way around it!
