Can anyone recommend where I can get replacement carling toggle switches for my Hunter 23 distribution panel...thanks.

First try this site forum store to see if they have them.
An alternative source of course is West Marine. You do not advise which as there is an on-off and then there is a on-off-on. Carling is connected with Blue Seas and west Marine has two on-off-0n listed 10710689 and 10710697.

Thanks Crazy Dave!!! I did check the store and did not see and Carlings. I went to West Marine yesterday and they were not able to help. I found Carlings website today and the actual switch...just crazy trying to find a retailer selling the switch...

SBO Store has only Blue Seas which will probably work if the toggle breaker is a single.
Paneltronics has a wide selection of Carling built breakers.

the carling switches are good, first class switches but the carling technologies company has extremely poor customer service and the switches are not easy to come by.
you can contact them and let them know what you need, but their follow up is non-existant... even when you do the call back and try to get the info you originally contacted them for. their email correspondence is also slow and it seems as if the person on the other end is a beginner in the business....
you need to find an independent electronics store and order thru them, as they know where to source the switches that cannot be found on the internet.
so many internet outlets advertise the part numbers as "in stock", but they cannot actually get them from carling any better than we can....
the prices can vary a LOT from one place to another and unless you only need 1 or 2 pieces, they will almost always need to be ordered.
I am in need of some of their mid sized, lighted, amber rocker switches and cannot get them for any less than $22 per each, plus shipping.... so I am still using the red ones in place of where the amber ones should be.
I have found them sometimes as low as $5 which is more reasonable, but they are usually out of stock on the ones I need, when i need them.
this has been my experiance with the model of carling products that I usually have to deal with, in my boat and in my equipment repair business, and i dont expect it to get any better with them.
its unfortunate that I dont know of a better, more dependable switch manufacture for these switches.
as for a simple conventional style toggle switch, I have a vendor I purchase from that supplies me with mil spec sealed waterproof switches that are extremely well built and dependable for years of use. these can be obtained in any configuration one could ever have a use for, but the panel on my boat has rocker switches, not toggles, so im still stuck with trying to get the carling rockers....
if you find a good dependable and affordable outlet that can actually supply us, please let me know...
the rockers I need are,

Thanks all for replying. I have been striking out with the vendors that they have listed on there website!!!! Go figure, but sounds like par for the course with Carling. I will keep looking, but if I can not find a good source by the end of the season, I think I may make a whole new panel (I have an add a battery that I was planning this off season too) with a whole new panel with rocker switches rather than toggles (it was one of my worries when I bought the boat with the panel where you step in) and make the casing big enough for the add a battery, the ground bar, which is now exposed and some out goodies like power outlets.
If I find them though, I will certainly post the source up!!!

Ha! I was about to suggest Digikey. I've used them quite a few times over the years. I have no account, just used my VISA card. I can't see my 23's plastic handled switch, but I'm sure something in here should work:

For you Canucks out there, they have a Canadian operation, no brokerage fees! I listed Digikey.ca, but south of the border use Digikey.com, of course. I'm not sure where Lake Arthur is...

I haven't contributed since thought this site would have them. Had to replace some switches as well and found good matching toggle switches for marine panels here:

delcity was close, but no cigars...after many attempts...I an buy 45 if I want that many. I am going to replace the whole panel!!! Thanks for nothing Carling...on to a better manufacturer.

Thanks for the reply, those were the ones that I was looking at. I called them and they said they are not replacements for the Carlings in the Hunter. The specs are not the same. It was an interesting conversation with them, but in the end it sounds like they will not work.
I am going to keep looking, but the boat is being pulled this weekend and the winter projects will start immediately...and wiring is at the top since I am also adding a second battery and an add a battery kit.

Just out of interest which specs would rule the other switches out? Other than being rated for 12+ volts, having a half inch mounting, appropriate amperage for the circuit and similar connection tabs what other specs are you looking at? The other specs may or may not be all that applicable to your current application.
Honestly since the ratings were not the same and the tabs did not look quite the same, I asked their technical support. They were the ones that said is was not a good replacement, so I took their word.
Did you give details of the application or just the specs off the existing switch? - this is just a thought - as it is not an exact match for the carling wouldn't mean it won't work fine for your application. (I.e. Existing looks to be rated for 28v DC, del city 14v DC. -This would not be an issue for most North American boats as they are wired for 12v not 24.)
Good point. I gave them the specs, but not the application. I was working through a "rep" who was talking with the technical support guy, so it was a little be of a cluster. I am pulling my boat this weekend to start winter projects and may give them a call back with more information and see if I can get better answers,
You could also try the store here on SBO as they have a variety of coleHersy, sea dog, Sierra and a few other brands of switches. They would be also be able to give you better advice as to what will work with your panel on your boat.
