Hi Folks,I am just wondering if there's a way to get up the furler on the forestay.. one screw worked loose there during a particularly violent removing the genoa session ! In a bosun's chair.. down from the top or up from the bottom ??
Down from the top. Going up an inclined forestay (or backstay) is very difficult.
Hi Woodster, thanks for your thoughts! I'll be strapped clipped double harnessed and a few extra lines to boot!make sure you are secured very well on that forestay and use a good safety line and if in the event you get disconnected from the forestay hand on and slide down the forestay the sudden mishap will slam you into the mast
Cheers Stu,Ed, whatever you use to hang onto the forestay, make sure it is a LARGE diameter line or even better WIDE webbing.
This will serve to spread the load out and avoid damaging the foil.
Good luck, be safe.
Just stand on the deck and use harsh language... put the fear of god into that fastener and it will turn itself home to torque spec if it values it's life!
I wish the little voices in my head would tell me I can't do the crazy stuff we do on our boat.Down from the top. Going up an inclined forestay (or backstay) is very difficult.
looks like they already have ..from your pic posted looks like you subbed out the jobI wish the little voices in my head would tell me I can't do the crazy stuff we do on our boat.
