Oday 322 survey

I am looking for guidance. I'm looking at an O'Day 322 which appears to be in good shape but for one flaw. The Port side bulkhead and door are out of alignment. The door to head doesn't close at the top left by 1/2" bottom is fine. Also the finish is intact so I do not think this has been going on for a while.
I looked at the tabbing on the bulkhead and it looks intact where I could see. The boat is in the water but the hull shows no damage above the waterline.
Are these models known to oilcan or twist when lifted or blocked? Can this be fixed?
Price is right if no structural defects, i want to move up from 20 DS:confused:
Also need the name and number for a good surveyor in Bpt CT area...

I learned my lesson. Get the surveyor out there and he will tell you all you need to know. Can't help you with a suggestion of one, but it is well worth the money spent.

Almost leaped in on a great deal on a Hunter but almost talked myself out of a survey. VERY glad that I let it go through.

My 322 head door jams from time to time. I think it mostly due to humidityand stuff. If you have not already done so I also agree that you should get a surveydone. If not for your piece of mind then for the insurance company whom willmost likely require it for their use. The boats are built strong and I have hadmany positive comments from those who has seen the boat and how well they arelaid out and sail

I have a 1988 O322. Rear berth and head doors seem to close fine and are in alignment.

I bought the boat last year, after first seeing her about 4 years earlier. I decided to have the boat hauled so I could have a surveyor look at the keel joint, which I think is the only weak point (or potential weak point) on this boat.

She sails well, cabin is very room for a 32 footer.

I would recommend a survey unless you are competent at evaluating the boat. I my case, I spent a few hundred bucks to pull her out of the water and had a surveyor inspect the hull and keel. The survey did not turn anything up, and I sleep better knowing it was looked at.
