I would like to purchase and install a dingy davit on the stern of my Hunter 40 Legend. Any suggestions as to a make or model that someone has installed successfully? Thanks.

Dare I suggest you use the great search engine on this forum to read some earlier posts?

The search engine is great because it allows you to choose between manufacturers, too.

The reality is that there are only a handful of davit makers out there, plus what I just heard of called "Davit-in-a-box" which a C355 skipper used successfully. The stern size of that boat approximates yours.

Good luck.

Thanks Stu. I'll dig a little deeper.

Check Tower in a Box as well. I saw a great project earlier as well here.

Consider everybody who will helm the boat. While I can see over the dingy the first mate (5.0') can't. makes keeping a look out difficult. Also consider where you will relocate the stern light to, how you will get on/off the boat with the dingy on the davits and what do you do to keep rain water out (or drain it) of the dingy.
