Jacklines on a 1979 Hunter 30

Hello,

Has anyone ran jacklines on "79" vintage Hunter 30. If so, what were your attach points and how did they work for you?

I do on an '83 Hunter 31. I went from the bow cleat to the stern cleat on each side.clipped the jack line to the bow cleat and laid it flat near the toe rail (it was webbing) tied a loop about three feet in front of the stern cleat ran the jack line around the cleat through the the loop and back to the cleat then pulled it really tight and cleated it off. It works well for our offshore races and you don't have to un clip. Hope that helps.

On my 79 H30C, Ditto what HMT2 said. But, I would like to install a pad eye at the main hatch slider stop so I could keep the jack line on the centerline of the cabin top. Tether should reach from the cockpit so no need to unclip.
Just a thought.

I have thought of that too. But when I'm not racing (and sometimes when I am) I am one of those barefoot on the boat guys and I don't need anything else on the deck to grab my toes!

That's why I thought of the main cabin slider teak stop block that you probably don't have.
I'm used to avoiding the block with my feet!
