I have a 2005 Hunter 41 and had my bottom painted about 7 months ago. I had it dove to change the zincs and my diver said the paint on my keel is already coming off in blisters. Has anyone had this problem? Also, is this model a lead or steel/iron keel. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Had the same problem. Too many layers of paint and it started coming off in hand sized patches. The yard that painted it never mentioned it should be stripped. The guy in the next yard that I paid to strip, fair, barrier and paint did a lousey job too. Skilled workers are hard to find but everyone will tell you they can do the job just to get the job. Be careful where you go to have thework done. My keel is lead and yours should be also

Similar problem on my 2005 H44. Each yeAr when I pull the boat the keel has hand size area of paint that peel off. Not due to too much paint at least on my keel. This year I had the yard sand down and fair the affected areas to bare metal and apply a metal primer. I was told no need to barrier coat a lead keel. Let you know how we made out at the end of the season. Other than the keel have not had any problems with the hull. I use a petit ablative paint.
