Macgregor & Endeavour 26S and 37 Utah's Canyon Country
With some luck I might be back in Florida this coming weekend if I can sneak in between weather events. I'm going to continue with the trip and start up the ICW. No plans at this point where this will take me but my sister and family live just off Long Island Sound. Not sure if that will be reasonable or not but I'm headed north.

I have a doctor appointment June 15th back over in Port Charlotte to make sure my new pacemaker is ticking along like it should be. I need to go over there also to close up the Endeavour in the yard and visit.

So the plan is to head north up the ICW and hopefully get somewhere between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville by the 10th if things go well. Then I'd like to find a place to leave the Macgregor and rent a car to go over to Port Charlotte for 4-5 days.

Anyone have dock space up in that area or know of one or an inexpensive, if there is such a thing, marina where I could leave the Mac?

Also I'm entering back in the states at St. Lucie Inlet and need to get some supplies and cash at a Wells Fargo. Any place there are north of there were it is easy to anchor and dinghy ashore to take care of those things. I could go a day or two north of there but need to get ashore at some point sooner vs. later.

Any Ideas??

Thanks,

Sumner

Anchor outside of Harbortown Ft Pierce and dink up Taylor Creek to the bridge and walk to grocery, CVS, bank.

Vero Beach has a nice FREE bus system that gets you to good supplies. Mooring field isnt too expensive. But be prepared for no seeums.

Cocoa and Melbourne might also be good stops.

Dragon Pointe at Banana River has a dink dock near a grocery store.

Other than that, cant think of much?

Thanks, I'll check all of those out and make a note about them. I found someone to help me run around at Jensen Beach so I can resupply there before heading north,

Mooring fields at Stuart, Vero and Titusville that might make good places to leave the boat. Titusville is rather exposed, Vero is extremely well protected.

Thanks, hope to get north of those but who knows. Any good ones further north of Daytona Beach? I'll also start checking that.

Only left the boat once on a ball and will have to look again on how to use one. That was at Marathon when we left the Mac there for a few days and drove back over to Ft. Myers Beach to look at the Endeavour that we ended up buying. We had been anchored within 1/2 mile of it about a month earlier .

Marathon didn't want you to leave the boat on a mooring like we did but we had a guy in a nearby boat keep an eye on things for us. I'd hope that might be the case again. I hate leaving the boat like that even though thousands of boats are on moorings eveywhere,

I live near Ponce Inlet, south of Daytona. There is nothing cheap available north of Daytona until you get to St. Augustine where they have a municipal mooring field with dinghy dock downtown.

Mooring fields in St Augustine and in Fernandina Beach.

Less expensive marinas up the St John River near Green Cove Springs but its a looong way out of the way.

Shop around on the Indian River, you might find a deal on dock space between Melbourne and Titusville.

You could try Marine Land just south of St. Augustine. Nice place. If leaving it on the hook Titusville would work as it is a pretty quiet town. Cocoa is a bit spendy for a slip and I have heard mixed things about being on the hook there.

In Daytona 7 Seas is priced right and very old school, bit of current in the slips farther out.

Mooring field in Saint Augustine, the Salt Run section is as protected as you can find. It is very reasonable too.

Both are good fields in a good location. If you make it to ga, consider Jekyll harbor marina.

The mooring fields in the main channel of St. Augustine near the Lions Bridge and the Fernindina mooring field have some swift current. The Salt Run portion of the St Augustine mooring field has mostly rise and fall because the water does not flow all the way through.
