Looking for Hunter Owner Captain Al Miller

I have so many purchase and install questions regarding my 2002 356 and a new windlass I need to acquire. I think Cap'n Al would surely have some sound advice for me. I am not comfortable relying totally on a salesperson. And I recently learned that the OEM Sprint Atlantic windlass Hunter installed on the 02 356 is no longer available.
Come end of May my wife and I will be sailing the Great Lakes until 10/1. I just can't fathom one more summer hand hauling the heavy rode (Ibprofen sandwich anyone).

The type of windlass will depend, to a large extent, on what your anchor locker is like. Pedestal mount or not, rode drop distance, vertical or horizontal configuration. Went through the selection process last year and it's endless.

If you can supply some pics of your anchor locker I'm sure some one can come up with a few suggestions or maybe an H356 owner has already been through this.

Thanks. A couple weeks ago on this forum some folks did provide me info but as I said the original OEM windlass model is no longer available. If there are any 356 owners with possibly a 2002 model year or at least the same locker configuration that purchased the boat without a windlass and then upgraded...photos,windlass brand,model and chain link and rope size would be soooooo helpful. I think several model years of the Hunter 36 has the exact same anchor locker...Thanks

You may want to direct some questions to Jim Seamans also known as JAVA who owns a 356 who posted a lot of good information over the years on the 356. Please research first and then ask as Jim has some personal things to take care of at this time.

On my 2007 H-36 there is a Hole in the Locker door that allows the
windlass gypsy top fit.
