Hunter 20 Lake Monroe
I am restoring our 1983 Hunter 20 and I was just curious if anyone had in information about that model. I contacted Hunter but they had very little info. I was just curious how many were made and if there were any other Hunter 20 owners on this forum?
We have serial number 3 and I only know of 4 maybe 5 others that I have been able to track down. It is a great little boat for inland lake cruising and we have really enjoyed learning to sail her.
We redid the interior our first winter and now we have moved on to tackling the exterior. I have repaired all the stress cracks and removed the sink drain hull fitting and second cockpit drain that some one hacked into her. Last night I got her off the trailer and hope to remover her swing keel tonight so I can blast it and recoat it. We have a small leak in the keel trunk area that I can address once I get the keel removed. Will be applying paint soon and hopefully be on the water again around the first of June. Just in time for summer sailing weather around here.
Thanks for the info in advance and sail on!

Look under boat information for Hunter and by the model, scroll down till you see 20. When you pull that up, look at downloads and there is a owners manual and I believe that is to your boat. Very informational. Look at that first and then if you have questions, get back with this forum.

Mike Thomas knew that boat if he is still employed at Marlow Hunter if I might recall.

Hi Sam, I don't have much to offer in terms of advice, but did want you to know that you're not the only person who owns a Hunter 20. Like you, I've found very little info; it seems these were not terribly popular boats, as they only made them for 2 model years.

Anyway, if you find any useful info, please share it with me and I'll do the same. Smooth sailing!

Fellow Hunter 20 owner here, 1983 model. I just rescued it and believe it is not far from being in the water, came with 8hp Nissan motor working and a trailer. Currently it has wires strewn about but no bilge pump and I am wondering where do I put a bilge and where does it get plumbed to pump out?
