Selden In Mast Main Furling Line

Does anyone know for sure what size the furling line is for the Selden in mast main? Hunter owners manual says 9 MM so I purchased 44 feet of 3/8 Sampson XLS. When I took it to the boat it was considerably smaller than the originally installed line. Back to Defenders and purchased 44 feet of 7/16 XLS installed and spliced it but it was thicker than the originally installed line and the spliced sections would not pass through the blocks at the base of the mast. The splices were done per the Selden manual and look neat and not too tight. I'm not sure what size line I need but it is somewhere between 3/8 and 7/16 probably metric. I am already out $100 so need to get it right next time around.

I hired my boatyard to replace my furling line and it took the guy 4 tries to get the splice small enough to get through the jammer. I believe he actually thinned out some of the line in the splice section. Works fine now.

The Selden mast manual specifies a 10 mm diameter double plaited line for the endless loop.
