S2 9.2 A stuffing box

I am looking to replace my dripless coupler with a regular stuffing box. I have a 2QM15 and the dripless coupler I installed only lasted 400 hours.

Any advice is appreciated

Not a great fan of these contraptions on boats but yours should have lasted longer than 400 hours. Two thoughts come to mind:

1. Does it have a vent to ensure it's always flooded ?

2. What is the transmission to prop shaft alignment like ?
