Navionics is hosting a webinar on the science of sailing - if you're interested, the details are below:

Date & Time: April 14, 2015, 6:30pm PDT (9:30pm EDT)
Registration link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5701107793539392513
Description: Does the physics behind sailing confuse you? Or are you curious on learning more about it? We'll be covering how a sail generates lift and why boats can sail upwind. We'll also be covering center of effort, center of lateral resistance, and boat balance.

EDIT: We had a conflict issue with another webinar running at the same time, so we had to adjust the time. Please note that the webinar starts at 6:30pm PDT (9:30pm EDT). The registration link is still the same, the only difference is the time change. Sorry for any inconvenience - I hope that doesn't mess up anyone's day.

Hmmm ... I don't know about signing up. It's Sue's birthday. I'm not sure if she wants to make this a date. Dinner and a webinar? Should I go for it? It sounds good to me in any event!

Signed up, thanks.
Another approach to the subject is Physics of Sailing Explained by Bryon D. Anderson. Sheridan House 2003. I may re-read some to get me up to speed.

Thanks to everyone that was able to attend and to everyone that has watched the recording! I've gotten some really great feedback and it looks like some topics of interest for future webinars are navigation, heavy weather sailing, and sail trim...any others that might be interesting?

The target date for one of these talks is likely in May sometime, but for those that are interested, I have a repeat webinar of Tips and Tricks for your First Regatta -- registration link is here: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2245355941101200385
