It is not misleading... To assume at least an 8 foot beam, 15 is within reason of "safe". "Sane" depends where they are going and for how long.

What the seller really means is that the boat includes 15 pfd's... thus, safe... according to USCG regs.

Yeah, by the formulas, 15 it is. My 25 will hold 15. But you don't need to know Who to know that it won't fit more that 6 at best.

Doesn't it really depend on where everyone is sitting?? I could get at least 15 illegal immigrants packed in sitting below on the cabin sole and settees. More if they squeeze in horizontally along quarters under the cockpit and inside the vberth...

When a 28 ft. boat claims it sleeps five, think of dead bodies that need less space. Living people are different. I also don't believe a 28 footer is rated to carry 15 people.

You gotta keep in mind, Craigslist ads are from the lower minded folks. Too cheap to put in the time & money to properly list items. think low brow. When on the net, remember it is after all still, "The wild west."

I posted my Viking 33 on craigslist and a couple other places like Sailboat listings and Sailboat Data. It sold in about 6 weeks. I think it is a tool and, just like any other tool, it is all in how it is used... I've seen furniture carved with a chainsaw but i wouldn't want it in my living room to relax and watch TV...

So okay, 2 laying in the v berth, 6 sitting in the salon, 4 hanging out in the cockpit and 3 on the rail... ha!
