Got my seadek in for my boat

ok now before anyone goes out and buys the stuff I think I owe it to everyone to make some comments.
The stuff is awesome.
Nonskid
looks beautiful
easy to install
easy to mark out for factory
super durable (brother and father have it in their boats)
soft to walk on
Now the issues
The issue isn't with the material but with the price and the customer service. Not that the customer service was mean just that very uninformative.
Heres what happens in the process.
You call them up they send you a mylar sheet and a pen and some directions.
the Mylar sheet is something like 4ft by 86 inches (cant remember exactly)
The Mylar sheet represents one sheet of the seadeck. AND THATS HOW THEY CHARGE YOU!! for that sheet. Now you and I both know that the inside of the cockpit of the catalina 22 isn't even close to the dimensions listed above so I thought well heck I'll have them cut out the stuff that I need then the left overs I'll just use on the gunnels or somewhere duno where but I'll think of something.
So I mark out the sheet as instructed all hunky dory and send it back in and indicated that I want the leftovers. they call you up after few days after sending you an email with a computer representation of your drawing. I seen it and thought hmm their not showing any of the leftovers and I'm getting charged for a full sheet nearly twice what they originally quoted me. Was told that it couldn't get the half sheet price they quoted me because of the way the sheet is cut blah blah blah regardless so I say yah go ahead and send it but I want the rest of the sheet since I'm only getting half and paying full sheet price and the lady says ok. so I pay.
Couple days later I get a call back that they no longer give out the leftovers. Well what a bunch of BS if I've ever heard of in my life. Had I known it from the beginning I would have marked up the entire sheet of mylar and used every square inch of the stuff even if it ended up being floor mats for the car. The cost of the material is a majority of the price and some of it is cutting it out so it would have cost me a small amount more but not that much.
So in the end I love the stuff and it looks awesome but cost me WAY to much and wouldn't have been so bad even then if they would have sent me the left overs. So buyer beware mark the entire damn sheet out if you decided to get it.

It looks awesome but I feel your pain... what an unfortunate situation.
I wanted to do tan/beige colored nonskid on my boat but now that I am looking at some of the areas of my hull that are painted with Interlux Brightsides Steel Grey I am thinking that tan non-skid would just look wrong, so I think I may go with grey Kiwi Grip instead. Using Seadeck or similar in the cockpit area might break up that grey nicely.
Do you mind sharing with us what it cost?

Probably the largest "improvement" all round is where I put it on the wooden step going down below. More than once with wet bare feet I've about crowned my royal butt going down there and now it's way nicer.
Cost to much? yah.. But I wanted it and my wife had just told me to in her words " Quit *****in and just get it I'm tiard of hearing you say you want it" soooo there ya go.

Its a little late now, but I think you probably could have gotten two sets made, based on those dimensions. Then throw the extra set out on eBay (or here). Just something to think about in case anyone else wants a set.
Looks cool though. And the safety factor on the step is worth a lot!

My mother was a seamstress for 40 years so I had her make my interior cushions and she made cock pit cushions as well. the cushion material for the cockpit I bought (and that was crazy expensive as well) was neoprene 2" thick and covered it with sunbrella sort of a soft sunbrella so the neoprene doesn't soak up water and neither does the sunbrella so they make a good swim deal as well.
I'd like to make a new table inside sometime when I'm bored and have a good inlay in it with the boats name. Only thing holding me back is honestly I never have the table up since we rarely eat down below most of my cushions I keep indoors as well just to keep any possibility of mold away from them.
Only other thing I've done down below is memory foam matresses for the vbirth and the table side 5" of memory foam and it actually sleep pretty good and mom made me fitted sheets and fitted bedspread for the vbirth so that helped as well.

Since I moved this last time I miss all the free sewing and the diesel mechanic work from my dad.
What is your supply source for the memory foam and the neoprene you used in the cockpit?
Not this season, but maybe next I'd like to do mine... I have all the original foam save one missing small cushion, plus the original 80's plaid couch pattern.

Looks great, but expensive as you say. So how much was it if you don't mind saying?
Honestly it's been 2 years since I bought the neo to do all the cockpit cushins and I know when I did it I just did an internet search there are lots of suppliers.
