Surprise on Dry: Center Board Bolts

The SS centerport metal plate and the plastic roller are looking pretty good, nothing wrong with. The both bolts are surprisingly much oxidized, the boat is in it's 10 year.

The bolts have different dimensions. I measured for the one with the roll 5/8" diameter and 3.0" length. The pivot one is bigger; 3/4" diameter by 3.5" length.

Wondering if this steel bolts can be bought here at the store or are just cut-offs to get in hardware shops?

Well, this store has the bolts but I had not the time to get them send 10 days after ordering, since my boat on the dry costs by the day.

Here is how it worked out for me: I found a bolt and nut store, which sold me bolts partly with threat but in 3/4" and 5/8" as needed. A machine store luckily just cross the street, cut the bolts out in the length 3.5" and 3" as needed.
The entire action driving off the boat yard until back took only 90 minutes.

Mostly, in my life, things are going not that smoothly, so here it did. I am happy and appreciative about it, smile.

It may be from interest to describe who "one guy" can tackle to replace the control line and bolts on the center board (CB) all alone. I usually are in the situation to do things on my own, so also this task.

It is kind of easy to get the CB out of the trunk by unscrewing the retaining bold under the table and releasing the CB line just a little. I had not even to wiggled on the CB to see it coming loose, then released it fully and cut the old line.

After painting the bottom and CB trunk I replacing the line to the CB and put the CB back in place:
Make a knot on the end of the new line and make sure it is pushed all back into the CD line hole. It did not work for me to get the CB with bracket attached back in place, the bracket always tilted and got stuck.
So, I prepared the bracket with the shave and taped the bolt to prevent it from falling out and pushed the bracket without CB strait up in place and used an extra long, 8" bolt, to retain it but let it stick out on the bottom to have the pivot hole visible.

Now I lifted the CD with some wood blocks as support up and attached it to the bracket, taped the pivot bolt in place and pushed (leveled) the CB up all the way. Now I replaced the large retaining bolt with the right one and tighten the bracket. Checked the functionality of the CB and then covered the retaining bolt on top with 3M5200 fast cure.
