I am having a hard time understanding how one can have an indicator on a GI to tell you if it is working or not...if i assume correctly it is for the ground wire only and if that is so... how would you have a light or other device that will alert you if it is bad or not doing its job ...as i see it you have to have a live lead and a neutral lead to make the light work so with only one wire and that wire not being a current carrying conductor can one do this.....

This is why they were expensive and the industry moved away from them when Fail Safe came along....
