No hatch id number that I can find so I'm at a bit of a loss regarding this.

Anyone know the part number by any chance - I believe it's manufactured by bowmar

I thought it was manufactured by Lewmar since all of the other hatches are Lewmar. But Lewmar told me that Hunter had manufactured these style of hatches but they had no idea of the source for the receiver.

Thanks Rich

Yup those receivers look very different and I can't justify buying new handles for just for a broken receiver as the current ones work fine but thank you Phil for the quick response. Please
keep your eyes peeled for my next post which has a different part (couldn't post two images without crashing the iPhone app)

I thought bowmar because my forward hatch is bowmar and the outside fittings it has (for securing the handles to the plexiglass) are pretty much identical to these ones in the main salon.

Will keep looking - worst case scenario I can get them made from starboard easy enough. It's not leaking and embarrassing as it is its been like this for a number of years!

Thanks for the responses

Looks like you could fairly easily fabricate a receiver yourself using either aluminium or stainless U channel.

Is this the forward hatch? We've seen a couple of different hatches used in the v-berth of the 40.5. What it looks like from the photo is the hatch style in the link I posted; basically a piece of plexi that closes onto a D-shaped gasket. The hardware is Bomar but the lens, hinge, and interior trim were all made by different suppliers and assembled at Hunter.

If that's the case this receiver is probably as close as you'll get, but I'll check on Monday.

If the hatch is a true Bomar hatch it will have a serial number on the hinge side. Let me know that number and we can research parts for it (we sell them for less than Bomar's retail price).

But if you can make one out of starboard I can guarantee it will cost less than the replacement part. :)

Phil- My hatch with the broken receiver is about 12"x15" hatch in the forward head. It is not the large hatch over the vee berth that needs the long braces to hold it up. My broken receiver looks identical to the one Redunculous posted. I looked at your offering quite a while ago and I thought I would be better off fabricating one myself out of a simple rectangular block. The tab on the handle engages under the lower edge of the receiver, not in the center. So the U-shape is not really needed.

I just haven't made one yet. If I could buy the exact item I would do that.
