I have wondered for years why these arent a common thing.... a "food truck" on the water... which in this case makes it a food boat... I have only seen one, several years ago, stocked with the basic hamburgers and hotdogs that everyone on shore was already cooking.... but he still did alright.
any weekend, any where there is lots of boat traffic, there will always be hungry people that would appreciate some tasty junk food...

and I cant imagine who the agency/government would be that controlled the "street corner" permits.... if any would be needed at all... maybe only a basic food handling license.
The marina where I keep the boat operates a pizza franchise. I don't know what they charge for it but they'll make deliveries out on the lake. Big raft up and call in an order.

I always wanted a 7-11 boat. You could buy your beer, chips and other essentials with out going back in.
My main sailing grounds are Smith Mountain Lake, VA. For the past few seasons there has been an ice-cream pontoon boat out on the water.
Brilliant. The power boats and jet ski crowd pull up along side, get some ice cream on a hot sunny day.
Now if someone would make a taco boat... I'd be all over that.

You are very close (by water) to pelican point yacht club. It is the premier yacht club on the lake. The sailing is very very good early spring and late fall. In the summer it depends. After a front it is always good... but on a clear day the wind will always die around 4:00 and not pick up again until 6:00 or 7:00. There are a great many coves tucked into the mountains so if you plan your day... try to be at anchor in a cove for a late afternoon lunch/snack/swim/nap by 3:45 or so... chill out until the wind comes back and it is a perfect day.

We had one in St Petersburg FL that not only sold sandwiches and burgers but also beer that is until someone else tried to set up shop leading to a dispute that got both shut down.
We had a shapely young lady that worked her Hot Dog cart in a skimpy bikini. Her usual parting words after serving you were "you all come back and see me". In a very short time the city of Tampa passed an ordinance banning the operation of food carts in the bathing suits. This prompted the sale of T-shirts with the saying, "Help bring the T Back to ampa"
Anyone who has visited Cuttyhunk off Cape Cod has seen the Cuttyhunk Raw Bar boat at cocktail time. Call them on ch72. Oysters raised on the island are shucked alongside - a wedge of lemon, horseradish...Not cheap but life is short.
