Greetings; I was given a Hunter 18.5 that needs a lot of work. At present, I'm trying to rig the main but can't figure out how it's supposed to hookup at the gooseneck. or, you could share a photo of what you have for a gooseneck fitting on the mast and the boom end attachment so we may be able to tell you what your missing...
For reference, look under the column for boat information and pull up the 18.5 which has the owners manual. In addition you will find photos there.
At the gooseneck, you should see a curved U with hooks on the two ends. Simply put the gromment attached to the hook. Hope this helps you sir
