Tattoo 26 Production to Cease?

Their facebook page said they were relocating because they had outgrown their factory and that they had several 26's in stock for buyers.

Business question: If you 'outgrow' a facility (logically assuming demand outstrips your ability to supply) why would you stop production while you looked for a new location??

yea... maybe too many boats stockpiled.... the boats are good, but the manufacturing name is hideous....

Tattoo Yachts is relocating as we have outgrown our facility. We will be out of production until we have our new location set up.
In the interim we will be completing the Tattoo 22. We pulled the first Tattoo 22 hull and deck out of the molds last week and they look even better than we had hoped.
A number of our dealers have Tattoo 26 Power Sailers available in stock, so we have set up a new page “Where can I get a Tattoo 26?”

On the name I know it means something special to them that doesn't involve ink in the body but for most of us that is what we think of. A bad choice of names in my opinion as most won't take the time to read what Tattoo means to them,

as opposed to those who would support the notion to being laid off in the event that they were having "the wrong kind" of problems?....
but yea, i know what you mean.... layoffs hurt no matter what the reason is.

but i do believe there is a good chance of being rehired if the company can find a bigger facility and continue to do business while trying to work out the "right kind" of problems they are experiencing.....

well dang it, sometimes during these long cold winter months, there isnt much of anything better to do but sit around gossiping and starting rumors....
the poor folks at the tattoo factory that one of us is shutting down, are getting layed off by another one of us, and hired back on by another in a bigger and better facility.
if we stay with it we may be able to solve all the worlds problems, and we CAN make it all up right here in this thread ...

Sent them out to learn how to cut tin for the new walls? Since this thread is wreaking havoc on people's lives anyway, might as well give them a trade.

Are you getting information from somewhere else? All I see in that link is that they stopped production while they re-locate. Granted.. if that was only a week, why mention it.

What I think may actually be the case is that they have hired a bunch of FL snowbirds to help with the move to their new location in Cuba and after the move, they are going to retain the snowbirds to work the lines. Sure, some of the new workerrs will be undocumented illegals (ie, the Canadian Snowbirds..)..

Now Im also having fun!

Someone has to pack up and relocate the tooling and molds. I can assure you management is not doing that. Really though if they can work out of current inventory and they return with higher production they can still provide orders.

Stopping production to "look" for a facility is odd. I mean stopping production to move is one thing but stopping to just look is silly. I mean what if it takes 3 years to "find" a new facility?

My gut tell me sales are not what they expected or there is a problem financially and someone is behind on their building lease but as mentioned. This is all gossip anyway.
