Sail and Pedestal Covers

In the Cape Cod area, who would you recommend for a new
Catalina main sail and pedestal cover?

I want to stay local and not do it by mail order. I did that for my new mainsail
and that was the worst experience I have ever had.

Bob,

I would not give up on mail order just yet, as a main sail cover is not quite as crucial to fit perfectly, as a main sail. But that is one of the benefits of the Catalina 30: is that we have the most popular 30 footer ever made, & everyone makes replacement main sail & wheel covers for it. I would just look hard at whom you order from, & check out a lot of online reviews, before you part with your money. Stay away from fly by night web sites that lack lots of reviews. Good luck & let us know who you buy from.

try lindamay2006.... I have had many items made by her.... everything she made for me works great and has lasted a long time on my small sailboat... I have not gone back to my big boat since my vacation... after my vacation I ordered few items from her... she does great work... she is very reasonable on her prices too....

she sells her products on Ebay... send her a message, she will contact you and discuss what you want... she will also give you a quote....

Unless you are missing opposing thumbs it is a relatively easy project to make. I made mine for my C-27. It took about 5yds of Sunbrella. A friend of mine made his Hunter 260 cover and was able to put the original Hunter logo on it, a really nice finishing touch.

I have used creative canvas works in New Bedford,MA. They have repaired my dodger and made me life line covers. Small family owned company.
I have also used Sperry sails in Marion, MA, they build and manufacture dodgers, sails and canvas products, again a small family owned company.

i know you keep your boat @ Kingmans Marina but not sure if your on the Cape side or the mainland side of the canal.

I am not a large consumer so my experiences are limited. Someone like Mainsail who probably sees more work in a month than I will ever see may be a better source for advise. All i will say is most canvas guys are always busy this time of year so getting an order in early ensures it will be ready for the upcoming season.
