When does WM typically have their paint on sale?

Or is there such a thing? I thought they would have a Fall sale but maybe not. I want to pick up a couple gallons of their PCA Gold but it's sitting at $200 a gallon right now. Not much cheaper than the Pettit Ultima SR40 that is relabeled for WM.

Our local True Value in Hillsmere, Annapolis, has the best paint prices- all year.

Good to know if I am ever in the area. True Value here in Clemmons NC doesn't carry marine paint.

Kito,

Assuming you are referring to bottom paint & aside of paying a boatyard a markup factored into a bottom job total cost, WASTE MARINE is high dollar. That's fine, as it is a targeted less-mass-manufactured market.

BUT, there are other sources for brand & pricing. It may be mail order or, it may be a local boat supplier. Areas & pricing effect this. I would suggest you put your fingers to the keyboard & hunt for better pricing pal.

Thanks CR. I heard that the WM CPA Gold is actually Ultima sr40 relabeled at a lower price. Just wanted to get some when WM comes down to a reasonable price. Someone got it at WM last year for $140 a gallon on sale compared to the $289 Pettit wants. I usually would want to avoid WM like Ebola.

I didn't know Truevalue carried bottom paint. I wonder if a local Truevalue can order it in?

Kito,

I feel your pain pal.

When buying anything marine, you have to shop around pal. Sometimes you win & sometimes you......................

Spend some time looking, who knows?

The whole "is West Marine good or bad" issue aside, I have found that they generally have good paint prices. And although they don't make it easy to get the rebates they offer, if you perservere and mail in the receipts, you can get some pretty great prices. I've bought their West CPP (equivalent to Micron CSC) for $100 a gallon.

Are internet paint prices better? I thought that it was difficult to get bottom paint by mail, as it is haz mat and there are some restrictions on shipping.

Defender and Walmart are generally cheaper

I've found that WM usually puts what I need on sale a week after I bought it.

I bought bottom paint two years ago from WM online at about half price. I think it was last half of April.
