As a back up plan to bringing her all the way back to Nj, can anyone recommend a marina on the Bohemia or Sassafras rivers that speaks sailboat.
Would like to pull the mast in the spring.
Thanks for your thoughts.

I stored one winter at Tidewater Marina at the foot of the Sassafras River. I thought they were nice people and they were a Hunter dealer so they spoke SB fluently.

Tidewater Marina

I have kept my boat there for four winters (one in the water/three on the hard).

Thier service department is "top notch." Mike (Service Manager) and "Big" John (Service Consultant) are exceptional people....and exceptional at what they do. Both are Navy vets and one a sailboat owner himself.

I bother the hell out of them with questions about what I need done, what I can do myself, and what it costs me if they do it. They are always willing to listen to my stupid questions (yes, I have proven there are stupid questions).

Thier work is always what they quote, completed when they said, and professionally done.

While spending money is never fun, I always know I got great advice on what to do, and the best price to have it done.

When I do the work myself, I am comforted that they will fix any mistakes I make, tell me what I did wrong...and not make me feel like an idiot for doing the "stupid" thing I should not have done.

ON THE OTHER HAND...if you want...contact Winters Sailing Center, Riverton, NJ and ask for a quote for winter storage....just before you make the call, let your wife know you are expecting a heart attack!

If you go with Tidewater the absolute best deal is in water storage. They will store your boat (with bubblers) haul your boat out in the spring, power wash it, and paint the bottom all for...(wait for it)...less than $ 1,000.00 (last year's rate).

I bought my boat from Tidewater in Havre de Grace and stored it on the hard over the first winter there. Great place. Great people. Right price. I'd do it again in a NY minute.
