quality of Beneteau interior wood

Can someone give me the truth on the quality of the interior wood used in Beneteaus? I have been led to believe the interior wood is veneer on top of basically particle board. My wife and I are looking for a live aboard in the 40 - 42 foot range. Every time we pass a Beneteau at the docks she stops and comments on how much she likes the outside style and appearance. I would NOT have particle board on the inside of my house cabinets much less on a BOAT!

Please let me know what the interior wood is!

why don't you contact Beneteau and ask them ....particleboard on a boat is to farfetched....why would they use this and run the risk of a major warranty claim..

Are you sure it's not quality plywood with a quality veneer? Preferably marine ply

It is plywood. I've removed and cut and reused a number of pieces. B323, 2006.

Most new Benis use Alpi inside, it's a tech tech manufactured wood product. Real wood laminated into blocks and cut on the bias. Very clever. Holding up very well in our two boats. This video pretty much explains it all.

Beneteau didn't become the largest sailboat manufacturer in the world by cutting corners. The video really sums it up.

Indeed.

A Beneteau might not be everybody's cup of tea, but there is no doubt that their economies of scale and engineering capability allow for some very impressive stuff.

I've never been impressed with tons of handmade furniture downstairs, so I'm very happy to spend the savings on sailing performance.

+1. We've owned 4 Beneteaus over the past 30 years and have been very pleased with the interiors and trim. It is definitely not particle board

Solid wood is much less dimensionally stable than plywood. Alpi is a brand with a very good reputation and the wood they put on most Beneteau and Jeanneau product. I think all the volume manufactures cut corners to the extent customers won't pay for it, but in my 10 years with the product it holds up well.

1999 36CC, very good wood work. Most backing was multiply/laminated, veneers were well done, and held up well.

Non - issue.
