1985 Hunter 23 forestay

Bought a Hunter 23 and setting up for first time. Anyone have a picture of how they connect the forestay to the deck?

No picture.. but there is a drawing in the owners manual (can be found here) on the last page IIRC.

look under boat information and go the the 23. Pull up and search the owners manual which is referenced in the above response under downloads

The turnbuckle attaches to the forward hole on the chain plate in the anchor locker.

Thanks everyone. Previous owner has attached an 18" length of plastic coated wire cable with galv shackles at each end to that chain plate. I was not sure how that cable was used.

now I see - that cable is the tack pennant.

That is correct. The tack pennant attaches in the aft hole on the chain plate.

Here is a link to a post I put up a while back that shows my anchor locker. Maybe you can use it to help wit the forestay connection. Mine was not correct when i bought my 23.
