Hi I have a rotary drive type 2 for my hunter sailboat and I need the sprockets and chain to complete my installation....

question

who supplies the chain and the sprockets

and what info do I need to know, so that I get the right size gears (teeth) to work with a EV400 sail

is there anything else I need to know would be a great help

Thankyou

So it did not come with the driven gears and length of chain???? Call Ray and ask if this was an oversight. When they say yes ask them the what number of teeth the driven gear has and the "pitch" of the chain. I suspect the local bicycle or motorcycle shop will be handy after the phone call.

I installed a rotary on my 40.5 years ago.
You must get stainless chain. I needed to buy a bunch for minimum order, and have some left.
I also have tegu chain breaker tool. Need a high end one for stainless
You need to calculate sprocket size on HO lock to lock time.
This is all documented in the motor manual.
No, the motor does not come with a gear installed.
So, on the 43, I assume your drive is mounted in the cockpit icebox similar to the 40.5?
If so, I have some tips.
Regarding gears, there are lots of local industrial suppliers in Toronto for gears.
The install is critical to have virtually no backlash

I believe it is 1/2" pitch
As mentioned, you need to go stainless.
Is your drive in the cockpit ice Cooler (same as 40.5)?
If you're interested, I can dig out my excess chain.
You will need stainless links & a chain breaker
I can help you locate gears in Toronto
You must incorporate a no backlash design
I can discuss if you want
