New to this boat 1992 Beneteau First 32s5. Thru-hull transducer is not working. Dropped new one over side and after it acclimated... Works fine. Now my question

Based on the construction of this hull.

Anyone have any luck mounting instead of paying to pull boat and replacing old one... And risk a leak

Is it the same manufacturer and model? They are made so they can be pulled out and the new one placed with very little (One pint) coming into the boat. Is this the depth or speed unit? The speed one has a flap to limit water intrusion. The depth, not being pulled out so often, does not have one. It is probably a bit bigger than the speed, but lets in more water- but is still manageable. Have towels handy.

You were not clear as to whether you were referring to the depth transducer or the speed transducer. If its the speed transducer, that's an easy exchange from inside. The depth transducer not so much. I wouldn't think that the depth transducer could be reasonably replaced without hauling out. There is a good chance that Mr. Murphy would find a way to get involved in that one.

More info

It is the depth transducer and with coax can not be replaced without pull out... Unless it can be silicones to interior hull ??

You have not been too specific. Some depth ones can be pulled out, just like the speed ones- while in the water.
