Bimini

Have used 96 h26 bimini fabric is missing. Frame measures 8 feet out from the stern rail. How can
You use while underway? The main sheet traveler gets in the way. Is this a docking Bimini?

I have the same size

Generally, the 26's have 6 or 7 foot biminis. Ours came with an 8 foot and until this season we had to motor if there was little wind and hot or raining. This spring I raised the topping lift to have only a few inches of slack with the main up which raised the boom sufficient to clear the bimini when not using the main. Then I moved the bimini back a bit. I moved the reefing padeye and the the mainsheet padeye on the boom forward as a set. Now I have a combination reefing padeye and mainsheet attach point so that the reefing point is where it should be and the mainsheet is forward of it's original position. The second padeye is forward enough from that to clear the bimini while sailing.

My bimini overlaps my boom by about 3 inches. This is not a problem under sail. The main keeps the boom above the binimi.

When I raise the main, I slack the topping lift. When I drop the main, I use the topping lift to pull the boom about 12" above the bimini. This gives enough clearance so that I can fold the bimini up and cover it when I leave the boat.

The main sheet attachment is about 2" forward of the bimini, so there is no interference. It is very rare for me to sail without the bimini in place.

Most biminis that were offered originally were either 4 feet or 6 feet as I introduced the manufacturer to Hunter and was involved with the design. Generally if placed correctly, the 6 foot bimini will be placed so it will be behind the mainsheet which would not interfer. Any longer, that was a locally made bimini and placement of the bimini frame feet would have to be further aft.

I have an 1994 H26. I have a H26 6' bimini, navy blue, with aluminum frame and all hardware, brand new unused, suitable for rail mount (if you have the rail mount package). 6 foot and I suggest a white or gray if going new to keep heat down below the cloth.
