Tiller damage

Got to my boat last night and found the aluminum tiller bent about 70 degrees and broken. Looks like vandalism. Reported to the police. Now I have to replace the tiller. Aluminum tiller on this site is almost $300. Wooden one is less than $200. I like the look of wooden tillers anyway. Does anyone know of an issue with replacing the metal tiller with a wooden one?

There should be no issues with installation and you'll have a sturdier, more attractive tiller. The biggest risk is fending off all the compliments.

I just sold my '86 H23. I loved the wooden tiller and will miss it. Get the wooden tiller!

I have the aluminum tiller but if I ever had to replace it , it would be with wood . I would not spend the money just for the change but if I had to I would . Somewhere I have the original tiller from our H23 that I had replaced . I am sure it would not fit your boat or you could have it .

Thanks for the offer. Ordered a new Wooden tiller yesterday. Estimated a month to deliver.
