Broken Mast Step?

Hunter 23 Nockamixon State Park
I've been sailing on a Hunter 23, and we've been having some problems with the boat, so we decided to trailer her, to make some much needed repairs. However, as we were taking the mast down, the mast came down before we unbolted the step. The plastic cap on the bottom of the mast is now broken. The piece that connects the mast to the metal plate that is the step is snapped in half, and we need a new one. I have two pictures of the damages. If anyone could tell me what part or parts I'm looking for, we'd all really appreciate it here.

If you take that cast aluminum step to a welder who knows what he is doing, you probably can get the two pieces welded back together and go on with life inexpensively. I have this done all the time.

You are talking about a hinged mast step. First, it is made of pot metal and do not even think of welding pot metal. It used to be Z Spar made the masts and fittings. Suggest that you look at the website for U.S. Spars (Gainesville, FL). First see if there are any markings of any kind on the mast to identify the mast mfg.

If Kenyon Isomat, then go to Sparcraft/Charleston Spar located in Charlotte, NC and if you need to talk with anyone, Jim Culibert would be the person whom to talk with.

I doubt it was Dwyer so it had to be one of the two above but see if there are any identifying marks on that mast.
