But can you get your full 3600 rpms? Flex-o-fold sold me a prop that was too large and was damaging my engine. It cost me $1100 US for new blades.

why ?

hi, wegu here, if i get 8+ knots with 3000rpm why should i run at 3600. i won´t go any faster. to be honest i tried reving higher, it did but i throtteld back before checking the final top Speed and revs but much over 8knots won´t happen. 6,5 is the fastest i go under power but there is a bit more if i Need it. I can thoroughly recommend this prop for the 40,5.

I would not reccomend what you have done.
The ideal prop for a 40.5 is a 3 blade feathering prop.
It gives you much faster bite in reverse, and bailed me out of many close scrapes. Forward sore is only 1 part of the equation
FYI, on my 40.5 I had a 3 blade max prop. Perfect setup

Hmmm. I had a friend with a H460 that had the factory fixed three blade then went to a Max prop that he swore by until galvanic corrosion forced a $1500 rebuild. He also snagged a couple crab pots with the "feathered" max prop. His last prop was a 20x14 three blade flexofold that he deemed the best of the three.

I have that three blade flexofold on my h466 and love it. Fortunately I've never had to make a crash stop but I am confident it would not fail me. I do understand that the Maxprop has the superior backing capability of any prop on the market.

Rule #1
Keep your shaft zincs clean.
If you let them build up with crud & growth, they won't do their job.
