Well, A Couple Of Suggestions...

While cleaning and lubing one of Lewmar Single Six winches, I lost one of the tiny springs that go on the levers. Pictured here:

My web searches have been unsuccessful. Can anyone tell me where I can buy one of these little buggers?

Thanks!
Well, the first place would be the manufacturer. Second, marine chandleries (like this site-email them). Third, your local ACE hardware store. Fourth, McMaster-Carr. These are called torsion springs. You will want them in stainless steel. Good luck! (I had to hunt for these springs for a door handle once)

They're called pawl springs, the "levers" are called pawls. You can purchase a package of lewmar pawl springs from just about any chandlery. I bought a package of 10 at a West Marine store for under $10. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/lewmar--spare-winch-parts--P002_070_004_504

Be careful about lubrication.... winch makers are pretty specific about what areas to lube, the quantity and the type product to use.... Find your winch in this service manual Lewmar winches.... http://ipsailor.com/Lewmar_Winch_Service_Manual.pdf

If you're serious about taking care of your valuable winches.... invest in the maintenance kit. Because it's used so sparingly the grease and oil will give you many, many years of service to all your boat's winches.... no matter the brand.

Those, together with the pawls have stayed the same for many years and are readily available at many chandlerys, including west marine, singly or in maintainance kits.
